Pre-Ballet 1-4:  Classes at these levels meet weekly for 45 minutes.  They are both fun and educational for young dancers from age 3 to 8.  Pre-Ballet classes include warm-up, ballet, and creative movement experiences. Primary Ballet 1-2:  For students age 7 and up these classes bridge the Pre-Ballet and Ballet levels.  Primary Ballet classes meet once a week for 60 minutes with the opportunity to enroll in more than one class.  Their purpose is to build confidence and add structure in preparation for the uppers levels. Ballet 1-8:  These upper levels offer more formal ballet training for ages 9 and up.  Classes consist of barre, center, and work across the floor.  Technique classes are 75 minutes for Ballet 1-4 and 90 minutes for Ballet 5-8.  Ballet 1 students may enroll in multiple classes and Ballet 2-8 students should do so for proper progression. Pointe:  With instructor approval, advanced Ballet 4-8 students may choose to enroll in pointe classes in addition to regular technique to further develop their skills.  Class length is 60 to 90 minutes depending on level (see Pointe Technique Policy). Variations:  Ballet 5-8 students are also encouraged to enroll in the corresponding 90 minute variations class which focuses on increasing technique through learning classical and contemporary ballet variations as well as perfecting performance choreography. |
